Serving for Heroes Charity Open

Update: Over $3,400 was raised for the Wound Warriors Charity from the Tournament and Fund Raising Efforts!
 
 
The Citi Open is a proud supporter of the inaugural Serving for Heroes Charity Open. Serving for Heroes Charity Open is a singles and doubles USTA-sanctioned tournament open to all USTA Members.

The Charity Party / Fundraiser will be held at June 15 (7-10pm) at Policy in DC!
Located at 1904 14th Street NW in Washington, DC - Policy will donate a portion of the proceeds from the event to the Wounded Warrior Project. Please bring your friends, and hope to see you there!

All proceeds from the tournament will go to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project-an organization committed to raising awareness and serving America's wounded service members.  

All players will receive tickets to Celebrating Our Heroes Day at the Citi Open
on Sunday, July 28 and will be recognized on court for their in the tournament.

    (ex: Session 3 is first round, Session 10 is the Final)

    Note: yes they are nosebleed seats but if you are planning to see only non-stadium matches, it's not a problem. It's "first come first serve" seating on the Grandstand and all other side courts.

For food choices at Citi Open

I recommend the Basil Chicken entree at the Thai place. Most of the staff are pretty friendly and seems like the business place in the food court area. Gets busy around lunch/dinner, so try to go early and get a place to sit!

Check out the opening weekend July 28-29 and watch many of the players on the practice courts surrounding the stadium. Tickets are usually as low as $10 which you can use to go to any outside courts (plus watch qualifying round action on center court).

This year it will be its first-ever combined Men's and Women's event so there will be plenty of photo-opts and autographs from the players. For Sunday, July 29, LivingSocial is also doing a deal to include a backstage tour of the facilities for $25.
Tickets also allow you to watch all other side court matches including the all-new "Grandstand" court on a first come, first serve basis. Arrive early and get a front row seat!

Families (up to six persons with a minimum of one child under 18 years of age) will be admitted for FREE at this year’s National Parks Recreation Family Day! The first 3,000 people to attend will receive a free reserved seat ticket and lunch voucher courtesy of Guest Services, Inc. at the North Gate.
